March 13-17th

Hi Room 4 Families,

We had a unique week in our class as Ms. Percy was away sick. We had a few amazing EMJ teachers in our classroom to ensure we continued our learning and had fun! Special thanks to those lovely teachers, especially Ms. Guss who spent much of her week with us! We did an incredible job of being flexible and following our daily routines.

All students did an outstanding job performing in the Spring Showcase. Students were quick to adjust when they had to fill in certain parts for students who were absent. A special thanks to our amazing and talented music teacher Ms. Dafoe for organizing and providing us with this incredible opportunity.

This week was filled with St. Patrick's Day fun, which included learning about Ireland on PebbleGo!, reading digital books about St. Patrick's Day, watching educational videos and completing some drawing activities. We also ended the week with a mischievous visit from the leprechauns who left green footprints all over our classroom, and left a bracelet for each of us and some gold coins! Additionally, we had a blast echo and choral reading our St. Patrick's Day poems and playing descriptive bingo.

Next week, we will continue our small literacy and numeracy groups. In science, we will finish our animal research and learn to use Google Slides to present our research to our classmates.

After Spring Break, we will start a home reading program. Students are encouraged to read at home for 15-20 minutes each night. For every night students read, parents will sign their child's agenda page to confirm. After students have completed so many nights of reading, they will receive a prize at school.
