January 30th- February 2
Hi Room 4 Families,
We had a wonderful week in Room 4. We did an amazing job of transitioning and being flexible with having Ms. Percy return to our classroom.
We began with reading the story, Our Class is a Family. We discussed how important it is that we continue to be respectful, kind and understanding to our "classroom family" throughout the school day.
We were eager to be introduced, and for some of us reacquainted, to Mystery Doug. We examined how scientists organize animals into groups based on characteristics. We learned to sort animals based on their traits (i.e. lays eggs, has fur, has feathers, etc.) We explored animals and grouped them into mammals, birds, reptiles, and invertebrates. Next week, we will learn about animal habitats and document our learning in our journal.
Please ensure you bring your Communication Folder to school each day. We will write a daily message to share with our family. Additionally, there is space for home-school communication, if needed.
