February 13-15

Hi Room 4 Families,

Although a short school week, the students of Room 4 had plenty of excitement and learning.

We had fun celebrating Valentine's Day and spreading extra kindness this week. Everyone was thrilled to give and receive special notes and valentines. Love was certainly felt by all.

We spent time exploring our emotions and reviewing and identifying new strategies that we can utilize at school to manage our feelings. We watched What shall we do with Angry Monster? to understand how others might be feeling and what we can do to help them.

To end our short week, we celebrated the 100th Day of School. We read the book, Jake's 100th Day of School. We had fun working with numbers and listening to math songs. Our favourite was the 100th Day of School: Would you Rather? Body Break activity.

Next week, we will continue working in our literacy groups. We are also fortunate to participate in a Lacrosse Residency on Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday is our big field trip for Pink Shirt Day to the Saddledome. Please pack a bagged lunch that day. Lastly, We will take time throughout the week to discuss the significance of Pink Shirt Day and practice more kindness.
