April 10 - 14

Hi Room 4 Families,

We had such a busy and fun week of learning in our classroom!

We started the week with a new addition to our gymnastics routine. We added the trestles and balance beams to our mat work (i.e. balancing, movements, and routines). We learned to use the BMX grip when climbing to ensure we are safe. We all did an excellent job and are looking forward to the next step in our gymnastics journey- stations and the climber.

We added Raz Kids to our reading toolkit this week. Stapled in your child's agenda you will find the login information and password. This would be an excellent way for your child to do some home reading if they have access to an iPad or computer.

We spent some time learning and reviewing money in math through games, videos and songs. We will continue this work next week along with subtraction.

With Earth Day coming on April 22nd. We started some work on how we can be environmental stewards. This included learning about the importance of trees. We read the book, Be Thankful for Trees. We learned that without trees there would be no life on our planet. We took some time to document why we are thankful for trees and did some nature journaling during our community walk. We will continue our work on Earth Day next week.

Our special Friday visitor, Pongo the Leopard Tail Gecko :)
