May 22 - 26

 Hi Room 4 Families,

Can you believe there are only 22 days left before the Summer holidays? It is hard to believe how quickly our time together this year has flown! 

This week, we continued our work on Water Conservation. This included some online activities and we each completed a Google Classroom Science quiz to test our knowledge on what we have learned throughout the unit. Next week, we will do some research about water and make a Google Slide presentation to show our learning. 

We continued to work on our money and subtraction skills in math. Some of us played a new subtraction dice game, while others worked on counting groups of mixed coins. 

In Literacy, we did various read-alouds and fun, comprehension activities, which focused on identifying story elements. 

We ended the week with a beautiful, sunny walk to the Southwood Public Library. We returned our books and exchanged them for new ones. Our teachers are so proud of how we demonstrate expected behaviours when visiting the library. We are respectful of the materials and use our manners when interacting with the librarians. 

This upcoming week is our field trip to the Calgary Zoo on Thursday, June 1. We are excited to extend our learning about endangered animals while there and complete a fun, little scavenger hunt. If you have not done so already, please sign the forms and return them before Wednesday. 

** Friendly Reminder: We will be taking community walks daily (provided the weather cooperates).
