  Hi Room 4 Families! We had a lovely week in Room 4. Again, we took advantage of the beautiful weather and were outside as much as possible. We spent a great deal of time learning about National Indigenous Peoples Day and recognizing and celebrating the history, heritage, resilience and diversity of First Nations, Inuit and Métis across Canada. This included learning about the three Indigenous Flags: The Treaty 7 Flag, the Metis Flag and the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami Flag. We learned about the significance of the Summer Solstice. We were inspired by the traditional Métis dot art and created a beautiful sun painting. We also learned watched a video of Elder Saa’ kokoto. He taught us that the sun is a gift. It provides life to all living things.   Next week, we have a couple of special events. On Wednesday, our grade 6 students will head off to their year-end bowling field trip in the morning.
